Global estimates of modern slavery that include those living in forced marriage or sexual exploitation are crucial in informing policy and uncovering overlooked groups of victims.

Local community members may not have the letters “Ph.D.” after their names, but their expertise is essential for understanding local natural resources, how they are used and how they may be harmed by outside development.

The AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition marked the 10th anniversary of the founding of a coalition whose collaborations have demonstrated “multiple ways in which science and human rights intersect.”
