Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud, the Swiss Ambassador to the United States, hosted Dr. Sudip Parikh, CEO of AAAS and AAAS Center for Science Diplomacy staff at his residence, where he discussed Swiss science diplomacy.

On July 21, 2021, AAAS hosted a virtual screening of, “A Peace of Science: Diplomacy with North Korea,” a short documentary highlighting science diplomacy efforts with North Korea.

The documentary, produced by the Global Co Lab Network focuses on how science can build bridges between societies where official relationships are strained. After the screening, organizers showed a short video of Dr. Norman Neureiter, first Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State and senior advisor to the AAAS Center for Science Diplomacy, followed by Q&A with Dr. Peter Agre, Dr. James Hammond, Ms. Linda Staheli, and Mr. Richard Stone, who appear in the documentary. 

AAAS has hired two new program directors to lead its ongoing work promoting international scientific relationships and diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education and the wider STEM community.
