Jackie Ward, 2017-18 Executive Branch Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, Office of the Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)

Jackie coordinates the NINDS programs that are part of the Helping End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) Initiative, a trans-agency effort to speed scientific solutions to stem the national opioid public health crisis. Prior to her fellowship, she was a postdoc and graduate student at the University of California San Diego where she received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences in 2016. Her work focused on understanding the underlying disease mechanisms of neurodegeneration. Prior to that, she received a B.S. in biochemistry and molecularbBiology from Rhodes College in Memphis.
