Speakers from the 2017-2018 cohort of AAAS Leshner Leadership Institute Public Engagement Fellows highlight efforts to engage a spectrum of target audiences on topics related to infectious disease and public health during this career development workshop, A Sustained Process Toward Achieving Good Health, Globally: Infusing the Culture of Science Communication and Public Engagement, at the 2018 AAAS Annual Meeting in Austin, TX.
An interactive group discussion will explore science communication and public engagement at the student, researcher and community levels, consider additional approaches towards achieving global public health goals, and examine methods for evaluating and assessing public engagement.
Of particular interest are ways in which infusing the culture of science communication and public dialogue among the scientific community, general public, and policymakers can lead to global health actions.
