This is your chance to ask any questions you may have about the fellowship experience and application process, before the November 1 application deadline for the 2016-17 fellowship year.

Maggie is a Program Manager with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Global Development Lab. She was the 2012-13 American Physical Society Congressional Fellow for the Senate Majority Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee under Chairman Tom Harkin (D-IA). Her portfolio included public health, prevention, global health, aging, mental health, substance use disorders, and traumatic brain injury. She was also a 2013-15 Executive Branch Fellow at USAID, in the Global Development Lab, where as a fellow and now program manager, she focuses on sourcing, piloting, and scaling science and technology innovations for the developing world as part of a network of universities called the Higher Education Solution Network (HESN).
Maggie is a chemical engineer with a background in experimental and computational biomedical research and genetic engineering. She also completed graduate coursework in public policy. By focusing on science and technology policy, she was able to merge her interests in engineering, teaching, and policy by working on STEM education issues. She received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Salaeha Shariff, Director of Recruitment, AAAS S&T Policy Fellowship Program
Salaeha directs recruitment cultivation, national outreach activities, and diversity enhancement for the S&T Policy Fellowships. She plans and manages annual marketing efforts, oversees advertising, and engages with scientists and engineers in initiatives to promote careers at the intersection of science and policy.
Barry Williams, Marketing Associate, AAAS S&T Policy Fellowship Program
Barry manages advertising, facilitates outreach operations, and orchestrates marketing event logistics. In addition, he regularly presents on the fellowship program, conducts marketing research and supports social media activities for the fellowship program.
