Days of Molecular Medicine Conference

, ,

This conference brings together experts working on a broad spectrum of rare diseases to discuss new insights made possible by improved technologies such as next generation sequencing and the possibilities for translating these advances into new treatment approaches and therapies for patients. This year's theme is The Translational Science of Rare Diseases: From Rare to Care. The keynote speaker will be Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel, a professor of neuroscience at Columbia University. Kandel's research has been concerned with the molecular mechanisms of memory storage in Aplysia and mice and, more recently, with animal models of memory disorders and mental illness.
