Human Rights Day Trainings

December 10, 2017 marks Human Rights Day, the day in 1948 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In celebration of Human Rights Day, the AAAS Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program is conducting training sessions for members of the AAAS community. The training will address the following questions:

  • What are human rights?
  • How are human rights relevant to your work and the mission of AAAS?
  • What is AAAS doing to address human rights and how can you contribute?

Training sessions will be held at AAAS headquarters on Monday, December 11, at the following times:

Option One: 9:30 - 11:00am
Option Two: 12:30 - 2:00pm
Option Three: 3:30- 5:00pm

Each session will be limited to 25 participants on a first come, first serve basis. Please register by December 7 to secure your spot in one of these training sessions. For questions, email Joel Ericsen (
