Join us for the next SciEngage discussion on Friday, May 8 at 12PM ET! When the principles of inclusion are discussed, it is not uncommon to see nods of agreement followed by business as usual. Sometimes a lever is needed to dislodge entrenched practices. Live events, with their flexibility, immediacy, and inherently iterative nature, can serve as particularly effective levers for change. When live events bring together people that do not usually share the same space, they can bridge communities in ways that eventually lead to institutional change. Please join us for an hour of honest reflection on the difficult-to-conjure magic generated at the intersection of inclusive practice and public science events.
Come hear from Ben Wiehe, MIT Museum/Science Festival Alliance; Stacey Baker, AAAS; Jonathan Frederick, North Carolina Science Festival; Karen Peterman, Karen Peterman Consulting, Inc.; and Daniel Aguirre, Science Festival Accelerator/STEM Consultant with TIES.
The session will be recorded. Comments and resources can be shared on the discussion page on Trellis. More information about these sessions are on this Center for Public Engagement webpage.
