2013 AAAS Mass Media Fellows Awarded

The 2013 AAAS Science and Engineering Mass Media Fellows have been announced.

For 39 years, AAAS has been placing PhD students at news outlets across the country to work as paid science reporters for 10 weeks during the summer. The Fellowship is designed to enhance coverage of science-related issues in the media in order to improve public understanding and appreciation of science and technology. Fellows have the opportunity to improve their communication skills by learning to describe complex technical subjects in a manner understandable to the lay public.
