AAAS Member Tee L. Guidotti Receives Knudsen Award

On April 28, 2013, longtime AAAS member Tee L. Guidotti received the William S. Knudsen Award for Lifetime Career Achievement in Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Dr. Guidotti said "I am overwhelmed at this recognition from my peers... Together, we have created a specialty and field of medical practice that we can be proud of!"

Dr. Guidotti is the Vice President for Health/Safety, Environment & Sustainability at the Medical Advisory Services, a Division of Building Health Sciences, Inc. He has been involved in extending the consulting and support services offered by Medical Advisory Services to include service to federal agencies, local governments, companies both local and foreign, international agencies, and law firms.

The Knudsen Award is the highest honor in the field, and is given by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. His recent book The Praeger Handbook of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, was specifically mentioned with the award. Also mentioned were the research and academic contributions made during his 30-year career as a professor in the US and Canada.

Medical Advisory Serivce describes Dr. Guidotti as "a thought-leader in the field of occupational and environmental medicine for many years."

He is a physician trained and board-certified in both occupational and pulmonary medicine and is qualified in toxicology.He served as President of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in 2006 and of the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics in 2002. He retired in 2009 in order to launch a second career.
