Building on the STPF Program

The world might be a better place if efforts to connect science with public policy were thriving in nations throughout the world.

The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation has tapped AAAS to explore optimal conditions for similar fellowship programs and other mechanisms that might be rolled out in other countries. The project seeks to promote the use of scientific and technological information to support evidence-based decision-making in countries around the world, and strengthen science diplomacy efforts and advance regional and global cooperation on science and technology.

Over the next few years, STPF staff will collaborate with the AAAS Office of International and Security Affairs to conduct a landscape analysis and feasibility assessment to ascertain opportunities and criteria for implementing fellowship programs and other strategies to boost capacity for connecting science with policy across the globe.
