The National Research Council is calling for nominations of committee members to serve on a study of brucellosis in the Greater Yellowstone Area (GYA). The study will evaluate available information on the prevalence and spread of the disease and examine the feasibility, time-frame, and cost-effectiveness of options to contain or suppress it. Brucellosis, which is caused by a bacteria, can spread from wildlife to cattle that graze on land in or adjacent to it and can be transmitted by cattle to other species, including humans.
