Careers in Space Science: A Bibliography

On May 23, 2013 AAAS hosted a "Careers in Space Science" event for 160 middle schoolers. The event was part of our Planetfall Exhibit, featuring the work of Michael Benson.  A panel of scientists working in space science and on space missions spoke describing their careers, how they became space scientists, and offering advice to the students. Students took full advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and interact with scientists, and a great time was had by all!

As part of the event, SB&F created a bilbiography of books recommended by its editors and reviewers as among the very best resources to inform, motivate, and inspire young people to pursue careers in space science.

Copies of  a number of books on the bibliography, including Michael Benson’s books, were donated by the publishers to the schools attending the Careers in Space Science event. We wish to thank the following publishers for their generosity and support: Abrams Books; Capstone Press, Charlesbridge Publishing, Houghton, Mifflin, Harcourt, and the National Geographic Society. We know that the students and teachers were excited to receive the books!
