Most recently a 2016-18 Executive Branch Fellow at the National Science Foundation who supported the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation program, biochemist Chantel Fuqua is now Director of Faculty and Education Initiatives at the American Association of Medical Colleges. She is working to develop new programs to promote faculty diversity.
Molecular biologist Ali Nouri, 2008-09 AAAS Congressional Science & Engineering Fellow, is the new president of the Federation of American Scientists. Over the past decade, he has served on Capitol Hill in the offices of Senators Al Franken and Jim Webb. Prior to that, he was an advisor to the office of the U.N. Secretary General and a research associate at the Princeton University Woodrow Wilson School.
Physicist and 2016-18 Executive Branch Fellow Jonathan Trinastic used statistical and machine learning modeling to help solve problems at the Solar Energy Technologies Office of the Department of Energy. Today, he can be found at Duke Energy as a solar plant and grid reliability data scientist.
