Opportunities for AAAS Members at the 2017 AAAS Annual Meeting

The AAAS Annual Meeting draws in thousands of scientists and science enthusiasts from all over the world.  While there are myriad activities available to attendees, there are a few that AAAS members may be especially interested in.

Get a Professional Photo

If you’re a AAAS member, we’ll help you take your online presence to the next level. Come by the AAAS Membership booth in the Exhibit Hall and have a professional photographer take your picture. This opportunity, which can help you make a great impression online, is only available to AAAS members. Stop by anytime, no appointment needed.

Sign Up for a Section

Make the most of your membership by joining the AAAS Sections that match your interests. Learn more at the AAAS Pavilion.

Interact with Attendees on the Trellis MemberCentral Community

Use the MemberCentral Community on Trellis to connect with other AAAS members who will be attending the meeting to jump start your conference networking and grow your contacts. Access to MemberCentral Community on Trellis, a new social platform for scientists, is already part of your AAAS membership. Simply use your AAAS login to access the site.

Enter to Win an Amazon Echo

If you complete the AAAS Membership BE the Force for Science Stamp Game card, by getting stamps from each of the eight AAAS booths in the AAAS Pavilion, you can enter to win a free Amazon Echo. After you complete your stamp card, bring it to the Membership booth for a pair of touchscreen gloves.

Spruce Up Your Resume

Attend Transitioning into a Non-Academic Career, a membership-sponsored session, on Friday at 1:30pm and get a free resume critique. Experts will review your resume and give you suggestions on how to make it stronger.

Figure Out What to do After Grad School

Attend What They Didn’t Teach You in Grad School, a membership-sponsored session, on Sunday at 1:30pm if you’re a grad student, postdoc, or early-career scientists who wants to know more about the various career pathways available to you.
