So designated by presidential proclamation, Great Outdoors Month takes place in June and is intended to celebrate the natural world and to encourage Americans to get outside and to uphold and engage in conservation efforts. Two upcoming events that take place during this time are the Outdoor Stewardship Week (June 11 – 15) and the Great American Campout (June 23).
This June during Great Outdoors Month, see all the different outdoor activities that you can enjoy with your family and friends, and get ready for your next fishing, boating, camping, hiking and biking adventures!
In addition to the books listed in this Great Outdoors Month Bibliography that help you explore the outdoors, you can check out science apps like Project Budburst, Active Explorer, iNaturalist, Leafsnap, and Project Noah. And, you can get more inspiration and resources from Science NetLinks' Celebrate the Great Outdoors resource.
