Science and Human Rights Coalition Announces Inaugural Student Digital Media Competition Winner

The AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition has announced the winner of its inaugural student digital media competiton. The Coalition launched this competition to discover and recognize quality digital media projects that highlight these and other intersections between science and human rights. The winner will be recognized at the July 27, 2017 Science and Human Rights Coalition Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Vivekanand Vimal
PhD candidate in Neuroscience at Brandeis University

Vivekanand's project is a a three-part podcast series that explores multiple intersections of science and human rights from different perspectives. In the series, hear interviews with scientists and human rights experts about whether there is, or ought to be, a human right to access information and knowledge. The interviews also touch on the role of scientists as advocates for human rights policies.
