The AAAS Center for Public Engagement with Science and Technology recognizes excellence in public engagement with two awards:

  • AAAS Mani L. Bhaumik Award for Public Engagement with Science - Formerly known as the AAAS Award for Public Understanding of Science and Technology, this award was established in 1987 to recognize scientists and engineers who demonstrate excellence in their contribution to public engagement with science.   • AAAS Early Career Award for Public Engagement with Science - The AAAS Early Career Award for Public Engagement with Science, established in 2010, recognizes early-career scientists and engineers who demonstrate excellence in their contribution to public engagement with science activities. Submission Period

For the 2021 AAAS Awards, nominations will open April 15 with a deadline of June 30, 2020.  

Mani L. Bhaumik Award- 2020 Recipient

Early Career Award- 2019 Recipient

Mónica Ramírez-Andreotta is being recognized for involving communities most affected by pollution, poor water quality and food insecurity in the scientific process. | Neil Orman/AAAS
