Members of the DoSER team and public engagement facilitators from the AAAS Center for Public Engagement organize and host science communication workshops at prominent scientific association meetings. These workshops help scientists develop toolkits for respectful, culturally sensitive, and fruitful dialogue about science with diverse and largely religious publics.
Where appropriate, these are paired with formal research symposia highlighting effective, dialogue-driven engagement strategies and projects with religious communities and other publics that are already taking place within that discipline. Together, the workshops, presentations, and conversations that emerge from these events provide a rich set of experiences and information for scientists interested in public engagement.
Many of our talks are recorded and available online through the links below. These videos are part of the resources developed for scientists to hone their public engagement skill sets and consider the importance of identities, worldviews, and faith perspectives for science dialogue. Additional resources such as the Scientists in Civic Life booklet can be found here.
