Amy Shifflette

Editorial & Communications Manager

Amy Shifflette serves as the Editorial and Communications Manager for the AAAS Center for Science Diplomacy and Office of International & Security Affairs. 

Prior to AAAS, Amy worked as a communications consultant for the environment, energy, and international development Directorates-General of the European Commission in Brussels. Her work included editing the websites of the Joint Research Centre-led SETIS (Strategic Energy Technologies Information System) and DG Environment Eco-Innovation Action Plan. Other projects included authoring a book on the EU’s Instrument for Stability (IfS), highlighting the impact of EU funding in twelve fragile states. Before entering the EU policy communications arena, Amy worked for both local and international civil society organizations in the Netherlands, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Amy received her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Journalism from Ohio University. She obtained a Masters degree from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) in Cultures and Development Studies. She speaks French and Serbo-Croatian.
