Cynthia Bernardez manages partnerships with federal host agencies and offices facilitating day-to-day coordination of fellows. This entails conducting the selection and placement processes; monitoring and reporting on fellowship activities; and serving as a liaison and guide to fellows and their mentors. In addition, she contributes to planning and conducting orientation sessions, and participates in outreach and recruitment efforts.
Prior to joining AAAS, Cynthia worked as a relationship manager for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), with a focus on managing student professional development programs. Cynthia served two years as an AmeriCorps member in Chicago where she gained skills in event management, career services, and outreach.
Cynthia received her Bachelor of Science in Business from the Pennsylvania State University. She enjoys traveling, fitness and meeting people.
