McKenzie Prillaman is a Program Assistant for DoSER. Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, she received a BA in neuroscience with a minor in bioethics from the University of Virginia (UVA). After graduation, she conducted adolescent nicotine addiction research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) as a postbaccalaureate research fellow. There, she discovered science communication, and upon completion of her fellowship, she joined AAAS as an intern. McKenzie is excited to expand her science communication knowledge and explore the intersection of science, ethics, and religion.
