Michelle Barretta is a Project Assistant with the Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program. She provides support to the Forensic Science Assessments project, has contributed to various human rights projects, and has accompanied fellow SRHRL staff to Colombia and Guatemala. She received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of San Diego and a M.S. in Forensic Anthropology from the Boston University School of Medicine. For her thesis project, she conducted an entomological-based decomposition study on porcine remains in order to provide a general overview of which insect groups can be expected to participate in the decomposition process and even more specifically, during which stages. In 2015, she completed the graduate certificate program in Forensic Investigation at the George Washington University.
