Olga Francois oversees strategy, planning and implementation of outreach and communications, marketing and recruitment, social media activities, and alumni engagement for the S&T Policy Fellowships. She directs promotion and public events, collateral production, online systems, and data management. Olga manages four staff and assists the director with strategic planning, developing and launching new initiatives, and formulating policy for communications, marketing, and online systems.
She joined AAAS in 2011, following ten years at the Center for Intellectual Property at the University of Maryland University College, the last six of those serving as assistant director. There she conceptualized and implemented membership and professional development programs, and managed marketing and outreach activities.
Olga holds a master's degree in information science from the University of Pittsburgh, has over 20 teaching experience in higher education, and ten years of experience as a research librarian. Her undergraduate degree is in fine arts from Smith College; Olga continues her art from her Maryland studio, specializing in painting. She also applies her knowledge of art and design as the chair of the AAAS Arts Program and Committee, which oversees the art gallery at AAAS.
