2013 Public Science Day in Boston

Science Film Showcase

The AAAS Education and Human Resources Directorate, with support from the Verizon Foundation, is hosting a free screening of clips from the winning entries of the Jackson Hole Science Media Awards. Scientists and producers will screen clips, discuss the films and answer questions from the audience. The film screenings will be followed by a reception in the Museum gallery.

STEM Career Fair

In collaboration with the Harvard Museum of Natural History and Harvard’s Life Sciences Outreach program, the STEM Careers Fair will introduce middle school students to graduate student scientists, broadening middle schoolers’ perspectives of who is a scientist and how they got there. Middle schoolers are introduced to the research of two different grad students and gain a sense of science as a process of learning about the world.

Science Activity Fair

In collaboration with the Harvard Museum of Natural History and Harvard’s Life Sciences Outreach program, the Science Activity Fair will engage K-5 students from area after school programs and schools in fun science activities, led by college science students.
