DoSER Engaging Scientists Public Engagement Contest

Award Winners

Congratulations to Myeshia Shelby, whose project won the Public's Choice vote! Check out the article about the contest here, which includes interviews with multiple award winners.

Through the Engaging Scientists in the Science and Religion Dialogue project, the DoSER program recognized ongoing or prospective science engagement efforts that focused on, or were inclusive of, faith communities. Eighteen $1000 awards were given in 2019 to STEM scholars (graduate students, postdocs, affiliated scholars, or faculty) at five U.S. universities.

The scope of awarded projects ranged from cross-disciplinary scholarship to undergraduate education to direct engagement with faith leaders and communities. Topics included biomedical research, evolution, climate change, and environmental stewardship.
