Genetics, Genomics, and Ancestry: Creating a Public Education Program for Tribal Nations

This project will involve a workshop focused on multi-directional dialogue between facilitators and tribal nations about the techniques used in studying ancient genetics/genomics from humans, other animals, and plants. Both the benefits and pitfalls of these research methods will be described, as well as what types of information these techniques can and cannot provide to researchers and collaborating tribal nations. It is critical that tribal nations have access to this type of information before making decisions about engaging in research projects.
