This pilot project builds on the Science for Seminaries project by fostering a science program in rabbinic education, thereby broadening the scope of religious communities reached by the project. Partnering with Sinai and Synapses, DoSER is working with three Jewish educational institutions that are exploring science and Judaism by developing elective courses for rabbinical students, a continuing education e-course, a webinar/workshop series for rabbis, and an event featuring premier scientists and Jewish leaders. This project will create curricular resources, equip Jewish leaders to nurture productive dialogue and community engagement with science, and build momentum for increased involvement at the science-Judaism interface at Jewish institutions. AAAS is also consulting on a related project, Scientists in Synagogues, that is administered by Sinai and Synapses. Read about recent project events here.
