Ana Gorelova

Bio

I recently received a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh and currently continue working at the Pitt Vascular Medicine Institute as a research scientist. In my research, I study cells that make up the lining of lung vessels and how their transformation contributes to a rare disease called pulmonary arterial hypertension. I have been passionate about communicating science for many years, and helped organize several sci-comm conferences, such as TEDxUniversity of Pittsburgh and TEDMED, and wrote science stories for various media outlets. In my spare time, I love reading and cooking and hope to get back into long-distance running. I am excited to join the team at St. Louis Post-Dispatch this summer!
