Marina Philip

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Illinois of Urbana-Champaign, where I studied the chemistry within single cells and developed instruments to measure very, very small amounts of molecules. In 2015, I graduated from Western Washington University with a major in biochemistry and a minor in journalism. Throughout my studies, I have sought every opportunity to teach and foster excitement about science, from summer camps to blog writing. When I'm not working, you can find me bouldering, hiking, or reading a pulpy murder mystery. I couldn't be more thrilled to be a AAAS Mass Media Fellow this year, and I'm excited to dive in to the scientific issues that affect Nevadans this summer.
