Office of Government Relations

The Office of Government Relations (OGR) helps fulfill the AAAS mission to advance science and serve society. OGR advocates for the fundamental importance of scientific research and a strong research enterprise; advocates for the use of science in policymaking; serves as a resource on science policy and research budgets; connects scientists to the policymaking process at the national and local level; and builds new champions for science through education and engagement. The OGR team serves as a bridge between the science and engineering and the policymaking communities. Learn more about OGR’s work here

Announcement: 2023 CASE Workshop

The 2023 CASE Workshop will be held in-person in Washington, DC, on March 26-29, 2023. The workshop is an exciting opportunity for graduate students and upperclassmen undergrads to learn from science policy and advocacy experts about the role of science in policymaking and the federal policy-making process. It empowers participants with ways to become a voice for research throughout their careers.

Students interested in attending must apply for sponsorship through a sponsoring institution (a university or professional society), which will cover all costs to attend the workshop. View the list of 2023 CASE Workshop sponsoring institutions here.

Visit the Info for Students and Info for Sponsors pages for more details about the workshop and application process.
