AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition Student Competitions

The AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition holds yearly competitions for students to showcase their work at the intersection of science and human rights. Starting in 2014, the Coalition has held an essay competition, open to both undergraduate and graduate students. In 2014 and 2015, the Coalition held poster competitions at its semi-annual meetings. Starting in 2017, the Coalition launched a new digital media competition, intended to discover and recognize quality digital media projects, such as videos, podcasts, webinars, apps, and more, that highlight these and other intersections between science and human rights. Explore the winning entries from past competitions below.

The AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition Student Competitions are made possible by the AAAS-Andrew M. Sessler Fund for Science, Education, and Human Rights.
