AAAS and Subaru team up to promote STEM learning with Back-to-School Book Drive

AAAS and Subaru are proud to announce a book donation event that will take place August 1-31, 2015! As part of this event, Subaru retailers throughout the Eastern part of the United States will be donating outstanding, prize-winning science books to schools in their local communities.

All books selected for the program have been designated winners or finalists of the AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books.  This prize celebrates outstanding science writing and illustration for children and young adults. The prizes are meant to encourage the writing and publishing of high-quality science books for all age groups.

To support classroom learning, AAAS publishes classroom-ready, standards-based lesson plans that help teachers integrate these outstanding books into their teaching on our award-winning Science NetLinks website. During August and September, Science NetLinks will be publishing blog posts by many of the authors whose books will be donated to the schools. These posts will also help teachers introduce the books to their students.

Customers visiting Subaru retailers during the book donation event will have the opportunity to work with the retail stores to trigger a donation to the local education partner.
