Supporters & Partners

The AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) program is grateful to the individuals and organizations who support and partner with us to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of accomplished scientists and engineers and on the work of the U.S. federal government.

While the bulk of support comes from federal grants, contracts and cooperative agreements, STPF cultivates strategic partnerships with organizations and individuals who share our mission of connecting science with policy, and fostering science and engineering leaders who are prepared to find and deliver solutions to societal challenges.

Facing massive threats like COVID-19 and climate change, policymakers need solutions informed by evidence. Many of them rely on the expertise of STPF fellows. Your gift will strengthen science in public policy.

Partner Societies

The STPF program was founded as a cooperation between four science and engineering societies in 1973 – AAAS, the American Physical Society (APS), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and IEEE – and it has continued as a collaboration since that time. Each partner society supports fellows in the program and AAAS is grateful for this ongoing partnership. Currently, we partner with approximately 30 organizations.

Host Offices & Agencies

STPF is grateful to the federal organizations that host fellows and support their placements. Below is a representative list that may change slightly from year to year.
