Science and Human Rights Coalition Meeting: January 22, 2010

The third meeting of the Coalition opened on the morning of Friday, January 22, 2010 with a panel discussion on the ethical considerations arising from scientific research carried out in a military context.

The Coalition meeting continued throughout the day and provided attendees with the opportunity to participate in working group meetings, and discuss human rights issues central to the mission of the Coalition, including bringing human rights to scientific associations. Sessions include “Scientific Associations Serving Humanity: Volunteer Programs of Scientific Associations,” “Article 15: The Right to the Benefits of Scientific Progress,” and “In Their Own Voices: Hearing from Survivors of Human Rights Violations.”
