The Temple complex of Preah Vihear is situated on the southern edge of the Khorat Plateau, in the Dangrek Mountains, near the border between Cambodia and Thailand. Over the past decade, a series of clashes over the jurisdiction of the temple have taken place, with both Cambodia and Thailand claiming sovereignty over the complex. To investigate these incidents, imagery was acquired of three locations near the Temple. This work formed part of a project on studying border conflict made possible by a grant from the United States Institute of Peace. Read more at www.aaas.org/geotech/borders.
