UN Report Calls for Broadband Access in Developing World

On September 10, UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, was presented with the Declaration of Broadband Inclusion for All and Final Report of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development which calls on global leaders to ensure that more than half of all of th world's people have access to broadband networks by 2015, and make access to high-speed networks a basic civil right.

Dr. Romain Murenzi, AAAS Director for the Center for Science, Technology and Sustainability, International Office, discusses the current state of broadband in the developing world, and the impact broadband could have on nation's in Africa.
